If you have been following the tour all summer, the 2026 Banana Ball schedule is about to get short — and then it gets weird in the best way. What is left is a closing sprint of regular-season games, a playoff weekend in Savannah, and one championship night in Washington, D.C. that has never happened before.

Here is how the rest of the calendar actually works, what is locked in, and what the league still has not announced.

The regular season ends September 27

Every Banana Ball Championship League club is scheduled for a 50-game regular season on the tour. The last regular-season date on the official 2026 schedule is September 27, and the closing weekend is a good one: the league has games booked at Globe Life Field in Arlington and Progressive Field in Cleveland — big-league buildings for the final regular-season swing.

One quirk to keep in mind while you read the table: because all six teams split up across different cities each weekend, they do not reach 50 games at the same rate, and they do not play the same mix of opponents. That is why the league ranks clubs by winning percentage rather than by wins or games back. Two teams can sit next to each other with very different game counts.

Then the playoffs — October, at Grayson Stadium

When the league released the 2026 schedule back in October 2025, it listed the playoff tournament for October 1–4 at Grayson Stadium in Savannah. The official schedule currently shows a multi-team event at Grayson on October 1 with the start time to be announced.

What has not been published yet: the bracket, the matchups, the seeding rules, or the broadcast plan. So treat the dates as the firm part and everything else as pending.

How teams qualify

Four teams make it, and one spot is already spoken for. The Banana Ball Open champion gets an automatic berth, and the Texas Tailgaters took it by beating the Savannah Bananas in the final of the inaugural Open at Grayson in April. Texas has been locked into every playoff projection since.

The remaining places go by regular-season winning percentage. The league described the field as "the top three teams" plus the Open winner, which adds to four when the Open champion finishes outside the top three — it has not publicly spelled out what happens if Texas also finishes top three.

If teams finish level, the tiebreakers run in this order:

1. Head-to-head record between the tied teams
2. Total successful trick plays for the season
3. Point differential
4. Head-to-head trick plays

The Banana Bowl: Saturday, October 10, Nationals Park

The season ends with the first Banana Bowl — the first stand-alone championship game in Banana Ball history.

• Venue: Nationals Park, Washington, D.C.

Two playoff winners meet for one game — two hours, nine innings, one point per inning, Showdown if it is tied. But only two teams playing does not mean only two teams showing up: the league says all six clubs and their casts will be at Nationals Park that night, closing with a Final Inning Show it describes as the largest musical performance in Banana Ball history.

This is a real change from 2025, when the title was decided by a tournament at Grayson Stadium in Savannah and the Party Animals beat the Firefighters 4-0 in the final. Moving the final to a neutral big-league park in the capital, on the year of America's 250th anniversary, is the biggest single-night swing the league has taken.

About Banana Bowl tickets

Banana Bowl tickets were distributed through a lottery, not a general on-sale. Entries closed at 11:55 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 23, 2026, and winners have been notified in drawings starting Monday, August 24, with a window to buy. If you did not enter, your only realistic path is watching for additional releases from the league itself.
